SB10,1,2 1An Act to amend 442.04 (5) (a) of the statutes; relating to: educational
2qualifications for certified public accountants.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill allows semester hours completed at nonbachelor's degree-granting
institutions to count towards the 150 semester hours required for certification as a
certified public accountant. Under current law, only semester hours completed at
bachelor's degree-granting institutions may count towards the semester hours
required for this certification.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB10,1 3Section 1. 442.04 (5) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB10,1,64 442.04 (5) (a) In this subsection, “institution" means a bachelor's
5degree-granting
an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting
6agency that is recognized by the secretary of the federal department of education.
