1An Act relating to: methamphetamine addiction treatment grants.

This bill requires the Department of Health Services to request supplemental
funding from the Joint Committee on Finance and, if received, to award grants to
provide trainings to substance use disorder treatment providers on treatment
models for methamphetamine addiction. The DHS appropriations may be
supplemented after JCF approves a request by DHS for the funding, and JCF is not
required to find an emergency to make the supplement.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

Methamphetamine addiction treatment grants. The department of health
4services shall request supplemental funding from the joint committee on finance
5and, upon receiving a supplement, shall award grants of up to $150,000 cumulatively
6in fiscal year 2021-22 and up to $300,000 cumulatively in fiscal year 2022-23 to
1provide trainings to substance use disorder treatment providers on treatment
2models for methamphetamine addiction. The joint committee on finance, upon its
3approval of a request by the department of health services and without needing a
4finding of emergency, shall supplement any applicable appropriation of the
5department of health services for the purposes of this subsection.
