AB565,1,2 1An Act relating to: authorizing certain full-time positions within the
2Department of Safety and Professional Services and making an appropriation.

This bill appropriates money for the Department of Safety and Professional
Services to hire nine full-time staff to process professional license applications, eight
full-time staff to communicate with customers and the public, and two full-time
staff to help individuals, employers, and institutions of higher education understand
the credential application and approval process.

enact as follows:

AB565,2,54 (1) Professional licensing staff; department of safety and professional
5services.
In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department
6of safety and professional services under s. 20.165 (1) (g), the dollar amount for fiscal
7year 2023-24 is increased by $552,300 to increase the authorized FTE positions for

1the department by 9.0 PR positions for staff to process professional credential
2applications. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the
3department of safety and professional services under s. 20.165 (1) (g), the dollar
4amount for fiscal year 2024-25 is increased by $708,900 to provide funding for the
5positions authorized under this subsection.

In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department
8of safety and professional services under s. 20.165 (1) (g), the dollar amount for fiscal
9year 2023-24 is increased by $465,600 to increase the authorized FTE positions
10within the department by 8.0 PR positions for staff to communicate with customers
11and the public. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the
12department of safety and professional services under s. 20.165 (1) (g), the dollar
13amount for fiscal year 2024-25 is increased by $581,800 to provide funding for the
14positions authorized under this subsection.

17professional services under s. 20.165 (1) (g), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2024-25
18is increased by $143,000 to increase the authorized FTE positions within the
19department by 2.0 PR positions for staff to help individuals, employers, and
20institutions of higher education understand the credential application and approval
21process.

AB565,2,2423 (1) This act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after
24publication of the 2023 biennial budget act, whichever is later.
