AJR24,1,42 Whereas, the compounding challenges of our time require resolve to uphold
3every person's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and, as such, demand
4the establishment of the Economic Justice Bill of Rights; and
AJR24,1,65 Whereas, now is the time to close the historical disparities that have existed for
6many disenfranchised Wisconsin communities; and
AJR24,1,87 Whereas, this legislative body is the most diverse legislative body in Wisconsin
8history, with unprecedented representation; and
AJR24,1,119 Whereas, with broad support for bold and progressive policy relating to our
10current reality, the establishment of the Economic Justice Bill of Rights is essential
11to the fulfillment of public service; and
AJR24,1,1512 Whereas, the people of Wisconsin, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age,
13gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, ability status,
14immigration status, and country of origin, are entitled to the freedoms expressed in
15the Economic Justice Bill of Rights; and

1Whereas, these Rights will set the foundation for a prosperous Wisconsin that
2works for all; and
AJR24,2,43 Whereas, we declare that the Economic Justice Bill of Rights includes the
4following:
AJR24,2,55 1. A job that provides dignity at work and pays a living wage;
AJR24,2,66 2. Adequately funded public education and affordable, accessible child care;
AJR24,2,77 3. A union, public or private, and collective bargaining;
AJR24,2,88 4. Affordable, accessible, and comprehensive high-quality health care;
AJR24,2,99 5. A clean, sustainable environment and healthy planet;
AJR24,2,1110 6. Decent, sustainable community infrastructures including safe, affordable
11housing, transportation, and broadband;
AJR24,2,1312 7. Equitable access to capital, investments, financial institutions, and
13retirement;
AJR24,2,1414 8. A fair, restorative, and equitable justice system;
AJR24,2,1515 9. Recreation and participation in community and civic life; and
AJR24,2,1716 10. Life, self-determination, and freedom from oppressions; now, therefore, be

19to renew the progressive tradition of Wisconsin through the Economic Justice Bill of
20Rights and in a 21st-century fashion.
