SB713,1,2 1An Act to create 20.115 (4) (av) and 93.60 of the statutes; relating to: creating
2a food security grant program and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill allows the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection
to provide grants to food banks, food pantries, and other nonprofit organizations to
purchase Wisconsin food products. The bill creates a new biennial appropriation of
$15,000,000 to DATCP for this purpose.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

SB713,2,8 593.60 Food security grant program. The department may award grants
6from the appropriation under s. 20.115 (4) (av) to nonprofit food banks, nonprofit food
7pantries, and other nonprofit organizations that provide food assistance for the
8purpose of purchasing food products that are made or grown in this state.
