2025 - 2026 LEGISLATURE
LRB-2418/1
SWB:cdc
March 27, 2025 - Introduced by Senators Wimberger and Wall, cosponsored by Representatives Goeben, O'Connor and Knodl. Referred to Committee on Transportation and Local Government.
SB162,1,4
1An Act to amend 985.065 (2) (a) of the statutes; relating to: bid requirement
2for publication and printing of county board proceedings, notices, and
3advertisements in counties having a population of 250,000 or more and at
4least two English newspapers published daily.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, in counties that have a population of 250,000 or more, the county board must, at its annual meeting, direct the county clerk to invite proposals from the English newspapers published daily in that county for the publication and printing of the boards proceedings and all other notices or advertisements authorized or required to be published or printed by the board and all officers, boards, and departments of that county during the following year. This bill modifies the requirement, providing that only counties that have a population of 250,000 or more and have at least two English newspapers published daily must direct the county clerk to invite proposals for publication and printing.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
SB162,15Section 1. 985.065 (2) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
