SJR79,1,53Whereas, the United States is founded on the principles of justice, equality,
4and the rule of law, and no person, regardless of wealth, power, or political
5influence, is above accountability; and
SJR79,1,106Whereas, Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender with a documented
7history of human trafficking and abuse of minors, whose criminal enterprise
8operated over decades and may have involved numerous high-profile individuals
9from various sectors, including politics, business, entertainment, and international
10diplomacy; and
SJR79,1,1311Whereas, the American people deserve full transparency about how such a
12network was able to operate in plain sight, avoid accountability, and compromise
13institutional integrity across government, finance, and media; and
SJR79,1,1414Whereas, Mr. Epsteins death in 2019 occurred while in federal custody; and

1Whereas, many records related to Mr. Epsteins activities remain sealed,
2redacted, or otherwise withheld from public view, thereby fueling mistrust in
3government institutions and the justice system; and
SJR79,2,64Whereas, the victims of Mr. Epstein's crimes, and the public at large, have a
5right to know the full truth and to see that those who enabled or participated in
6these abuses are held to account under the law; and
SJR79,2,97Whereas, the integrity of our democracy is strengthened by full disclosure and
8by shining light on the failures, omissions, or possible complicity of those in
9positions of power; now, therefore, be it
SJR79,2,1410Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin
11State Legislature urges the immediate and unconditional release of all documents,
12investigative files, and sealed court records related to Jeffrey Epstein and any
13associated individuals, unless specific, narrowly tailored redactions are required to
14protect ongoing prosecutions or the identities of victims; and, be it further
SJR79,2,1815Resolved, That the legislature calls for any individuals names in these
16documents who are credibly implicated in crimes to be thoroughly investigated and,
17if warranted, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of status or
18affiliation; and, be it further
SJR79,2,2219Resolved, That the chief clerk of the senate transmit copies of this resolution
20to the President of the United States, the Attorney General of the United States,
21the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and to each Senator and
22Representative from Wisconsin in the U.S. Congress.
