2021 WISCONSIN ACT
An Act to create 115.385 (1g) (g) and 115.385 (7) of the statutes; relating to: the components, methods, and formulas the Department of Public Instruction uses to publish school and school district accountability reports and granting rule-making authority.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
AB965,1 Section 1. 115.385 (1g) (g) of the statutes is created to read:
115.385 (1g) (g) In assigning the performance category and overall score for a school's performance under sub. (1) (b), the department may not give more weight to the measure specified under sub. (1) (a) 1m. than to the measure specified under sub. (1) (a) 1.
AB965,2 Section 2. 115.385 (7) of the statutes is created to read:
115.385 (7) The department shall promulgate by rule the measures under sub. (1) (a), index system under sub. (1) (b), qualitative definition for the performance categories under sub. (1) (c), adjustments under sub. (1g) (c), and other components, methods, and formulas the department uses to publish school and school district accountability reports under this section.
AB965,3 Section 3. Nonstatutory provisions.
(1) In publishing the school and school district accountability report under s. 115.385 for the 2021-22 school year, the department of public instruction shall use the measures, index system, qualitative definition for the performance categories, adjustments, and other components, methods, and formulas that the department used to publish the accountability report for the 2018-19 school year.
(2) The department of public instruction may change the components, methods, and formulas specified under sub. (1) only by promulgating rules under s. 115.385 (7).
