2021 WISCONSIN ACT

An Act to create 7.53 (5) of the statutes; relating to: broadcasting election night proceedings.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

SB292,1 Section 1. 7.53 (5) of the statutes is created to read:

7.53 (5) Live broadcasts. If a municipality broadcasts canvassing proceedings live in any election, including by live stream on the Internet, the municipality shall record the broadcast, and the municipal clerk shall retain the recording for the period specified in s. 7.23 (1) (f).
