AB100-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB100-AA1,1,3 21. Page 1, line 4: after "renewal," insert "renewal exception for short-term
3individual health benefit plans,".
AB100-AA1,1,4 42. Page 4, line 4: after that line insert:
AB100-AA1,1,6 5" Section 5d. 632.7495 (4) of the statutes is renumbered 632.7495 (4) (intro.)
6and amended to read:

9insurer is not required to renew individual health benefit plan coverage that

AB100-AA1, s. 5h 2Section 5h. 632.7495 (4) (c) of the statutes is created to read:
AB100-AA1,2,73 632.7495 (4) (c) The coverage term aggregated with all consecutive periods of
4the insurer's coverage of the insured by individual health benefit plan coverage not
5required to be renewed under this subsection does not exceed 18 months. For
6purposes of this paragraph, coverage periods are consecutive if there are no more
7than 63 days between the coverage periods.

AB100-AA1, s. 5m 10Section 5m. 632.7495 (5) of the statutes is created to read:
AB100-AA1,2,1311 632.7495 (5) The commissioner shall promulgate rules governing disclosures
12related to, and may promulgate rules setting standards for, the sale of individual
13health benefit plans that an insurer is not required to renew under sub. (4).".

18disability insurance policy, as defined in s. 632.895 (1) (a), may be reduced or denied
19on the ground that a disease or physical condition existed prior to the effective date
20of coverage, unless the condition was excluded from coverage by name or specific
21description by a provision effective on the date of the loss.".

9following apply to an individual disability insurance policy that is a short-term
10policy subject to s. 632.7495 (4) and (5):
AB100-AA1,3,1411 a. The policy may not define a preexisting condition more restrictively than a
12condition, whether physical or mental, regardless of the cause of the condition, for
13which medical advice, diagnosis, care, or treatment was recommended or received
14before the effective date of coverage.
AB100-AA1,3,2015 b. The policy shall reduce the length of time during which a preexisting
16condition exclusion may be imposed by the aggregate of the insured's consecutive
17periods of coverage under the insurer's individual disability insurance policies that
18are short-term policies subject to s. 632.7495 (4) and (5). For purposes of this subd.
193. b., coverage periods are consecutive if there are no more than 63 days between the
20coverage periods.".

2on the effective date of this subsection.".

AB100-AA1,4,7 6" Section 11. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the the first day of the
77th month beginning after publication, except as follows:
AB100-AA1,4,9 8(1) The creation of section 601.41 (10) of the statutes and Section 9 (1) of this
9act take effect on the day after publication.".
