ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 14, TO 2009 SENATE BILL 434

SB434-AA14,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by senate substitute amendment 1, as follows:

SB434-AA14,1,3 1. Page 3, line 13: after that line insert:

SB434-AA14,1,6 "(em) 1. If the department determines that a person has become ill because of consuming unpasteurized milk produced by a milk producer, the department shall suspend the registration under par. (a) of that milk producer.

SB434-AA14,2,2 2. If the department suspends a registration under subd. 1., the department shall study whether the sale of unpasteurized milk produced by the milk producer for human consumption is safe. If the department does not determine that the sale of unpasteurized milk produced by the milk producer for human consumption is safe, the suspension remains in effect. If the department determines that the sale of unpasteurized milk produced by the milk producer for human consumption is safe, the suspension terminates on the day on which the department makes that determination or on the 90th day after the day on which the suspension took effect, whichever is later, subject to par. (f).".
