SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2009 ASSEMBLY BILL 371

AB371-SA1,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by assembly substitute amendment 1, as follows:

AB371-SA1,1,4 1. Page 2, line 15: delete "requirements" and substitute " requirements; specified seasons".

AB371-SA1,1,5 2. Page 2, line 16: after "season" insert "in 2011 or 2012".

AB371-SA1,1,6 3. Page 2, line 23: after that line insert:

AB371-SA1,1,7 " Section 5m. 29.184 (4m) of the statutes is created to read:

AB371-SA1,1,10 29.184 (4m) Extended season. (a) In this subsection, "regular bear hunting season" means the 35-day combined bear harvest season established by the department by rule.

AB371-SA1,2,2 (b) In addition to the regular bear hunting season, the department shall establish Labor Day and the day following Labor Day as days on which the department shall allow bear hunting. The department shall allow bear hunting on the days specified under this paragraph only by persons hunting bear without the use of a dog.

AB371-SA1,2,4 (c) The department shall allow bear hunting as provided under par. (b) in all bear management zones that are established by the department.

AB371-SA1,2,5 (d) This subsection does not apply after December 31, 2012.".
