Senator Shilling Introduced Senator Schachtner
Newly elected Senator Patty Schachtner represents the 10th Senate District. The 10th touches five counties; St. Croix, Polk, Burnett, Dunn, and Pierce. Much like most of western Wisconsin, the 10th is a special place. The 10th has beautiful scenery on the banks of the Mississippi river; well-renowned and community supporting colleges; bodies of water and state parks that bring recreation and relaxation; and locally-owned businesses, family farms and strong communities that work together to remain vibrant and strong.
The second of seven children, Sen. Schachtner was born and raised in Somerset on a dairy and hog farm. Senator Schachtner and her husband Joe have six children and have been active in their community their whole lives.
Senator Schachtner has served as an EMT, an emergency services instructor, a healthcare provider for the Somerset School District and as the St. Croix County Medical Examiner. Senator Schachtner is a co-founder of the St. Croix County Suicide Prevention Task Force, and serves on the board for St. Croix Restorative Justice, the domestic violence shelter Turning Point, the Somerset Food Pantry, and the Wisconsin Coroner and Medical Examiners Association. She has served as a Town of Star Prairie Supervisor and currently serves on the Somerset School Board.
As a body, we are lucky to have Senator Schachtner’s voice in the State Senate.”
