Trans 112.07(3)(c) (c) Medical standards for all classes of operators licenses. A person who applies for, renews, or holds any classification of operator’s license shall meet all of the following cerebrovascular function criteria:

Trans 112.07(3)(c)1. 1. There is no motor deficit preventing safe driving.

Trans 112.07(3)(c)2. 2. There is no impairment of reasoning or judgment preventing safe operation of a vehicle, as assessed by a physician or APNP.

Trans 112.07(3)(c)3. 3. There are no medications interfering with the person’s ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Trans 112.08 Trans 112.08 Conditions affecting endocrine function.

Trans 112.08(1) (1) With respect to conditions affecting endocrine function, the review boards, when making recommendations, and the department when taking licensing action, may consider disorders including, but not limited to, the following:

Trans 112.08(1)(a) (a) Diabetes mellitus.

Trans 112.08(1)(b) (b) Pituitary disorders.

Trans 112.08(1)(c) (c) Thyroid disorders.

Trans 112.08(1)(d) (d) Parathyroid disorders.

Trans 112.08(1)(e) (e) Adrenal dysfunction.

Trans 112.08(2) (2) The department may require information on a person’s functional ability including, but not limited to, the following:

Trans 112.08(2)(a) (a) Hypoglycemia.

Trans 112.08(2)(b) (b) Hyperglycemia.

Trans 112.08(2)(c) (c) Complications of condition.

Trans 112.08(2)(d) (d) Reliability of the person in following a prescribed treatment program.

Trans 112.08(2)(e) (e) Weakness.

Trans 112.08(2)(f) (f) Fluid and electrolyte imbalance.

Trans 112.08(2)(g) (g) Mental changes.

Trans 112.08(2)(h) (h) Hypokalemia.

Trans 112.08(2)(i) (i) Frequency of symptoms.

Trans 112.08(3) (3) 

Trans 112.08(3)(a) (a) Licensing standards. No license or endorsement may be issued to, renewed by, or held by a person who does not meet the applicable medical review standards for conditions affecting endocrine functions of this subsection.

Trans 112.08(3)(b) (b) Medical standards for school bus and passenger endorsements. A person who applies for, renews, or holds a school bus or passenger endorsement shall meet all of the following endocrine function criteria:

Trans 112.08(3)(b)1. 1. The person is in a treatment program certified by a physician or APNP as appropriate for adequate control of the condition.

Trans 112.08(3)(b)2. 2. The person has non-insulin requiring diabetes that is controlled.

Trans 112.08(3)(b)3. 3. There is no weakness, tremor, lethargy, or motor impairment interfering with safe driving.

Trans 112.08(3)(b)4. 4. The person monitors his or her blood sugar levels as advised by a physician or APNP, and is knowledgeable about the condition.
