SB919,1,2 1An Act to create 341.08 (2) (aj) and 343.177 of the statutes; relating to:
2emergency contact records maintained by the Department of Transportation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Transportation to inquire whether an
applicant for an operator's license or vehicle registration wants to provide specified
emergency contact information to DOT. If an applicant provides emergency contact
information, DOT must record that information in DOT's file for the applicant. DOT
must provide a method for a law enforcement agency that identifies a person to
electronically request and automatically receive the emergency contact information
recorded in the person's file.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
