AB201,1,2 1An Act to create 440.085 of the statutes; relating to: publication of credential
2metrics.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
Joint Legislative Council prefatory note: This bill was prepared for the Joint
Legislative Council's Study Committee on Occupational Licenses.
The bill requires the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) to
post and update the following information on its website each month, for each credential:
The median number of days from the day that all required fees for an initial,
renewal, or reciprocal application are submitted to the date a final determination is
made. If a fee is waived under the veterans fee waiver program, the days must be counted
from the day the application is considered submitted.
The number of applications submitted for an initial, renewal, or reciprocal
credential over the prior month.
The number of final determinations made on initial, renewal, and reciprocal
credential applications over the prior month, including the number of applications
approved and the number of applications denied.

The number of initial, renewal, and credential applications for which more than
45 days have passed since the applicant submitted all required fees, or, if a fee is waived
under the veterans fee waiver program, applications for which more than 45 days have
passed from the day the application is considered submitted. DSPS must also report the
number of those applications for which necessary information from the applicant or a
third party is pending, and the number of those applications that are currently
undergoing legal review.
AB201,1 1Section 1. 440.085 of the statutes is created to read:
AB201,2,4 2440.085 Publication of credential metrics. The department shall publish
3on its website and update monthly the following information with respect to each
4credential:
AB201,2,11 5(1) The median number of days from the day that all required fees for an
6application for an initial credential, a credential renewal, or a reciprocal credential
7are submitted to the day that a final determination on the application is made. If
8required fees for a credential are waived pursuant to s. 45.44, the department shall
9instead include, for purposes of calculating the median number of days under this
10subsection, the number of days from the day that the application is considered
11submitted to the day that a final determination on the application is made.
AB201,2,13 12(2) The number of applications submitted for an initial credential, a credential
13renewal, or a reciprocal credential over the prior month.
AB201,2,16 14(3) The number of final determinations made on applications for an initial
15credential, a credential renewal, or a reciprocal credential over the prior month,
16including:
AB201,2,1717 (a) The number of applications approved.
AB201,2,1818 (b) The number of applications denied.
AB201,3,2 19(4) The number of applications submitted for an initial credential, a credential
20renewal, or a reciprocal credential for which more than 45 days have passed since the
21applicant submitted all required fees for the application or, if the required fees are

1waived pursuant to s. 45.44, since the applicant is considered to have submitted the
2application, including:
AB201,3,43 (a) The number of those applications for which necessary information from the
4applicant or a 3rd party is pending.
AB201,3,65 (b) The number of those applications that are currently undergoing legal
6review by the department or a credentialing board.
