SJR29,1,32 Whereas, Arthur Lenroot was born on February 18, 1912, in Superior, and died
3on July 8, 1997, in Santa Rosa, California; and
SJR29,1,54 Whereas, he was educated in the Superior public schools, at Superior State
5College and the College of St. Thomas; and
SJR29,1,76 Whereas, he worked for a railroad and an oil company and was a traveling
7salesman and a title abstractor; and
SJR29,1,98 Whereas, Mr. Lenroot was elected to the assembly in 1942 and 1944 and to the
9senate in 1946, 1948, 1950 and 1952; and
SJR29,1,1010 Whereas, he served as a chairperson of the Joint Committee on Finance; and
SJR29,1,1411 Whereas, he was active in conservation and in tourism promotion, serving as
12president of the Douglas County Fish and Game League, as chairperson of the
13Douglas County Conservation Congress and as director of the Douglas County
14division of the Indianhead Association; and
SJR29,1,1615 Whereas, he was also Douglas County abstractor and a member of the national
16guard; and

1Whereas, after leaving the legislature, Mr. Lenroot was the state director of the
2Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corporation; now, therefore, be it
SJR29,2,6 3Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
4Wisconsin legislature commend Arthur Lenroot's many years of public service,
5express their sorrow at his death and extend their condolences to his family and
6friends; and, be it further
SJR29,2,8 7Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
8resolution to Mr. Lenroot's wife, Ellie, and to his 3 children.
