AJR48,1,42 Whereas, Sgt. 1st Class Dan Henry Gabrielson was born on September 24,
31962, in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, and died on July 9, 2003, near Baqouba, Iraq, when
4his convoy came under a rocket-propelled grenade attack; and
AJR48,1,75 Whereas, Sgt. 1st Class Gabrielson served with distinction and honor as a
6member of the U.S. Army Reserve, 652nd Engineer Company, out of Ellsworth,
7Wisconsin; and
AJR48,1,98 Whereas, Sgt. 1st Class Gabrielson was a loving husband to Peggy and devoted
9father to their 3 children, Vanessa, Audra, and Dustin; and
AJR48,1,11 10Whereas, Sgt. 1st Class Gabrielson had a great love for his family and for
11spending time outdoors; and
AJR48,1,13 12Whereas, Sgt. 1st Class Gabrielson worked as a CNC machine tool programmer
13at the Nexen Group, Inc., in Webster, Wisconsin; and
AJR48,1,15 14Whereas, Sgt. 1st Class Gabrielson made the ultimate sacrifice for his country
15while advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people; and
1Whereas, Sgt. 1st Class Gabrielson will always be remembered for his bravery
2and courage; now, therefore, be it
AJR48,2,6 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
4Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Sgt. 1st Class Dan Gabrielson, express
5their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and,
6be it further
AJR48,2,10 7Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
8resolution to Sgt. 1st Class Gabrielson's wife, Peggy Gabrielson, and to their 3
9children, of Frederic, Wisconsin; and to his father and mother, Henry and Ella
10Gabrielson, of Spooner, Wisconsin.
