ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commemorating the achievements and contributions of Moraine Park Technical College on the occasion of its centennial.
Whereas, Moraine Park Technical College was founded in 1912 with the establishment of the Fond du Lac and Beaver Dam Continuation Schools; and
Whereas, Moraine Park Technical College was established to provide the needed vocational and technical training for the region, promoting diligence, economy, efficiency, honor, and good citizenship; and
Whereas, today, Moraine Park Technical College enrolls over 18,500 students annually and continues to respond to the needs of businesses and communities with more than 100 associate of applied science degrees, technical diplomas, apprenticeships, and certificates; and
Whereas, Moraine Park Technical College has played a key role in supporting the education and training needs of our nation's veterans, from expanding its programming during World Wars I and II, to its recent recognition as a Military Friendly School; and
Whereas, Moraine Park Technical College's West Bend campus was established in 1940, which preceded a 1971 merger of the Fond du Lac, Beaver Dam, and West Bend Schools of Vocational, Technical, and Adult Education to form the Moraine Park Technical Institute; and
Whereas, Moraine Park Technical College employs instructors with industry experience and provides instructional delivery options including online and blended education; and
Whereas, organizations relying on a skilled workforce and facing constant change have continued to look to Moraine Park Technical College as a source for generating talent and developing solutions; and
Whereas, Moraine Park Technical College serves as a leader for higher learning while building upon its educational philosophy and mission to provide innovative education for an evolving workforce and community; and
Whereas, since its formation, the Moraine Park Technical College District Board has upheld the College's mission while responding to the local needs of the communities it represents; and
Whereas, in its 100th year, Moraine Park Technical College continues to be a respected and preferred educational leader and will celebrate its rich history with students, staff, and the communities it serves; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature hereby commend Moraine Park Technical College for its 100 years of academic excellence, achievements, and contributions to the state of Wisconsin.
