AB213-AA2,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB213-AA2,1,2 21. Page 2, line 10: after "responder" insert " , subject to par. (d)".
AB213-AA2,1,3 32. Page 3, line 16: after that line insert:
AB213-AA2,1,8 4"3. This paragraph applies to ambulance service providers in a municipality,
5as defined in s. 5.02 (11), with a population of less than 10,000 and to ambulance
6service providers with a staffing waiver under par. (dm). This paragraph does not
7apply to ambulance service providers in a municipality, as defined in s. 5.02 (11), with
8a population of more than 20,000.
AB213-AA2,1,129 (dm) 1. An ambulance service provider in a municipality, as defined in s. 5.02
10(11), with a population of 10,000 or more but not more than 20,000 may apply to the
11department for a waiver of any existing staffing plan in order to staff an ambulance
12with the personnel described in par. (d).

12. The department may approve a waiver under subd. 1. for an ambulance
2service provider that demonstrates all of the following:
AB213-AA2,2,43 a. The ambulance service provider has undertaken efforts to recruit and train
4emergency medical technicians capable of being licensed under this section.
AB213-AA2,2,65 b. Despite efforts under subd. 2. a., licensed emergency medical technicians are
6not available in sufficient numbers for staffing for the ambulance services provider.
AB213-AA2,2,97 c. Without a waiver under subd. 1., the municipality that the ambulance service
8provider serves is unable to meet staffing requirements for ambulances that require
92 emergency medical technicians on every service call.
AB213-AA2,2,1110 3. The department shall provide a written staffing waiver to any ambulance
11service provider it approves under subd. 2.
AB213-AA2,2,1312 4. A waiver under subd. 1. is valid for 48 months after the date of issuance, and
13an ambulance service provider may apply to renew the waiver.
AB213-AA2,2,1614 5. An ambulance service provider with a waiver under subd. 1. shall attempt
15to staff an ambulance with 2 licensed emergency medical technicians whenever
16possible.".
