1An Act to amend
16.283 (1) (b) 3. of the statutes; relating to: service-connected
2disability rating for disabled veteran-owned businesses.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill eliminates the minimum service-connected disability rating
applicable for the Department of Administration's certification of disabled
veteran-owned businesses for state procurement and contracting purposes. Under
current law, that disability rating must be a minimum of 20 percent, as awarded by
the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Under the bill, a person who is in receipt
of any award of a service-connected disability rating from the U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs satisfies the state requirement.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
16.283 (1) (b) 3. of the statutes is amended to read:
(b) 3. A person who is in receipt of an award from the U.S. 5
department of veterans affairs of a service-connected disability rating under 38 USC
or 1134 of at least 20 percent
