SB139,1,2 1An Act to amend 15.145 (2) (intro.); and to create 15.145 (2) (a) and (b) of the
2statutes; relating to: membership of the Prison Industries Board.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill adds two members to the Prison Industries Board, one member
representing the Department of Workforce Development and one member
representing the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. Like the other
current members of the board, the two new members are appointed by the governor
for four-year terms. Among other duties, the board approves and recommends
changes to prison industries in Wisconsin.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB139,1 3Section 1. 15.145 (2) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB139,2,24 15.145 (2) Prison industries board. (intro.) There is created a prison
5industries board which is attached to the department of corrections under s. 15.03.
6The board shall consist of 9 11 members appointed for 4-year terms. Three members
7shall be appointed to represent private business and industry and 3 members shall

1be appointed to represent private labor organizations. One member shall be
2appointed to represent each of the following:
