SJR118,1,22 Whereas, President George H.W. Bush was born on June 12, 1924; and
SJR118,1,43 Whereas, at the age of 18, Bush joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in the midst of
4World War II and served as a bomber pilot during that time; and
SJR118,1,65 Whereas, following his military service, Bush went on to attend Yale
6University, graduating in 1948; and
SJR118,1,87 Whereas, after working in the private oil sector, Bush went on to serve in the
8U.S. House of Representatives; and
SJR118,1,119 Whereas, Bush was later bestowed the honor of serving as the U.S. ambassador
10to the United Nations, advancing ideals of peace and prosperity around the world;
SJR118,1,1312 Whereas, in 1976, Bush served as the director of the Central Intelligence
13Agency; and
SJR118,1,1514 Whereas, in 1980, Bush was elected to serve as the Vice President of the United
15States with President Ronald Reagan; and
1Whereas, Bush's distinguished service to our nation culminated in 1989 as he
2was elected the 41st President of the United States; and

6Legislature honors the life and public service of President George H.W. Bush and
