ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: proclaiming September 2019 as Workforce Development Month.
Whereas, Wisconsin employers have posted over 90,000 jobs on the state's labor market exchange, and are struggling to find employees to fill those positions; and
Whereas, Wisconsin employers understand that having access to a qualified and skilled workforce will help to grow Wisconsin's economy; and
Whereas, Wisconsin initiatives like Wisconsin Fast Forward, Career and Technical Education Incentive Grants, and Youth and Registered Apprenticeship Programs, in tandem with programming under the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, help individuals enter the employment market and give them the skills necessary to maximize their readiness for work; and
Whereas, continuing to strengthen the connections between Wisconsin's educational systems and workforce programs on the local, state, and federal levels are essential to ensuring future workforce development; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin State Assembly recognizes how crucial workforce development programs are to supporting employers, employees, and economic growth; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin State Assembly hereby recognizes September 2019 as Workforce Development Month.
