This bill directs the Department of Transportation to designate and, upon
receipt of sufficient contributions from interested parties, mark the interchange of
I 41, USH 10, and STH 441 in Winnebago County as the “Michael G. Ellis Memorial

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
84.1052 of the statutes is created to read:
584.1052 Michael G. Ellis Memorial Interchange. (1)
The department 6
shall designate and, subject to sub. (2), mark the interchange of I 41, USH 10, and 7
STH 441 in Winnebago County as the Michael G. Ellis Memorial Interchange.
Upon receipt of sufficient contributions from interested parties, including 2
any county, city, village, or town, to cover the costs of erecting and maintaining 3
markers for the interchange specified in sub. (1) to clearly identify the designation 4
of the interchange as the “Michael G. Ellis Memorial Interchange," the department 5
shall erect and maintain the markers. No state funds, other than from the receipt 6
of contributions under this subsection, may be expended for the erection or 7
maintenance of the markers.
