1Relating to: proclaiming September 2019 as Workforce Development Month.
Whereas, Wisconsin employers have posted over 90,000 jobs on the state's labor 3
market exchange, and are struggling to find employees to fill those positions; and
Whereas, Wisconsin employers understand that having access to a qualified 5
and skilled workforce will help to grow Wisconsin's economy; and
Whereas, Wisconsin initiatives like Wisconsin Fast Forward, Career and 7
Technical Education Incentive Grants, and Youth and Registered Apprenticeship 8
Programs, in tandem with programming under the Federal Workforce Innovation 9
and Opportunity Act, help individuals enter the employment market and give them 10
the skills necessary to maximize their readiness for work; and
Whereas, continuing to strengthen the connections between Wisconsin's 12
educational systems and workforce programs on the local, state, and federal levels 13
are essential to ensuring future workforce development; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin State Assembly recognizes how crucial workforce 2
development programs are to supporting employers, employees, and economic 3
growth; now, therefore, be it
