2021 WISCONSIN ACT 91
An Act to renumber and amend 84.103 (1t); to amend 84.103 (1t) (title); and to create 84.103 (1t) (b) of the statutes; relating to: designating STH 21 as a Purple Heart Memorial Highway.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
91,1g Section 1g. 84.103 (1t) (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
84.103 (1t) (title) Purple Heart Memorial Highway Highways.
91,1h Section 1h. 84.103 (1t) of the statutes is renumbered 84.103 (1t) (a) and amended to read:
84.103 (1t) (a) The department shall designate USH 14 commencing at the Wisconsin-Minnesota border and proceeding easterly to Richland Center and the entire route of STH 21 as the “Purple Heart Memorial Highway Highways" as a permanent memorial memorials to and in honor of all persons wounded, injured, or killed as the direct result of enemy action who have been awarded this high honor in the name of the president of the United States. The department shall erect a permanent memorial marker markers along this route the designated routes to identify the designation of the highway highways under this subsection.
91,1m Section 1m. 84.103 (1t) (b) of the statutes is created to read:
84.103 (1t) (b) Notwithstanding s. 86.19 (1), upon request by a municipality and receipt of sufficient contributions from interested parties to cover the costs of erecting and maintaining the signs, the department shall erect and maintain within the right-of-way of STH 21 within the boundaries of the municipality 2 signs, one sign facing each direction of traffic, marking the route of STH 21 within the municipality as a “Purple Heart Memorial Highway.”
