SB290-SA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB290-SA2,1,2 1. Page 2, line 10: delete lines 10 to 20 and substitute:

SB290-SA2,1,4 " Section 3. 119.235 (1) of the statutes, as created by 1995 Wisconsin Act 27, is amended to read:

SB290-SA2,2,2 119.235 (1) The board may contract with any nonsectarian private school located in the city or within 5 miles of the boundaries of the city, or any nonsectarian private agency located in the city, to provide educational programs to pupils enrolled in the school district operating under this chapter. The board may contract with a private school that is located outside the boundaries of the city only if the private school has a ratio of not more than 15 pupils per teacher. The board shall ensure that each private school or agency under contract with the board complies with ss. 118.125 and 118.13, 20 USC 1232g, 20 USC 1681 to 1688, 20 USC 3171 to 3197, 29 USC 794, 42 USC 2000d and 42 USC 6101 to 6107, and all health and safety laws and rules that apply to public schools. If the board has established accountability standards for all of the agencies with which it contracts under s. 118.153 (3) (c) 2., the board shall ensure that each private school under contract with the board that is located outside the boundaries of the city complies with those accountability standards.".
