SENATE AMENDMENT 25, TO SENATE SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 2, TO SENATE BILL 2

SB2-SSA2-SA25,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

SB2-SSA2-SA25,1,3 1. Page 2, line 17: decrease the dollar amount for fiscal year 1998-99 by $3,000,000.

SB2-SSA2-SA25,1,4 2. Page 14, line 22: after that line insert:

SB2-SSA2-SA25,1,5 "(3zd) Federal revenue.

SB2-SSA2-SA25,1,9 (a) On or before June 15, 1998, the legislative audit bureau and the department of public instruction jointly shall submit a report to the joint committee on finance that identifies any available, uncommitted federal revenue that may be used to fund the following:

SB2-SSA2-SA25,1,11 1. The grant for summer school costs under section 20.255 (2) (fs) of the statutes, as created by this act, up to $3,000,000.

SB2-SSA2-SA25,2,2 2. The contracts under section 119.55 (3) of the statutes, as created by this act, up to $325,000.

SB2-SSA2-SA25,2,4 3. The programs under section 119.76 of the statutes, as created by this act, up to $2,500,000.

SB2-SSA2-SA25,2,12 (b) At the June 1998 meeting of the joint committee on finance under section 13.10 of the statutes, the joint committee on finance shall supplement the appropriation under section 20.255 (2) (ec) of the statutes by $2,500,000, shall supplement the appropriation under section 20.255 (2) (ed) of the statutes by $325,000, and shall supplement the appropriation under section 20.255 (2) (fs) of the statutes by $3,000,000, for the purposes specified under paragraph (a) less the amount of federal revenue identified for those purposes, as indicated by the report under paragraph (a).".

SB2-SSA2-SA25,2,14 4. Page 15, line 1: delete lines 1 to 8 and substitute:

SB2-SSA2-SA25,2,15 " Section 9228. Appropriation changes; joint committee on finance.

SB2-SSA2-SA25,2,20 (4z) Supplemental appropriations. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the joint committee on finance under section 20.865 (4) (a) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1997, the dollar amount is increased by $5,825,000 for fiscal year 1998-99 to increase funding for the purposes specified in Section 9139 (3zd) (b) of this act.".
