SENATE AMENDMENT 8, TO SENATE SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 2, TO SENATE BILL 2

May 18, 1998 - Offered by Senator George.

SB2-SSA2-SA8,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

SB2-SSA2-SA8,1,3 1. Page 2, line 9: after "school;" insert "creating a school facility board; awarding grants for school construction and leasing;".

SB2-SSA2-SA8,1,4 2. Page 2, line 11: before that line insert:

SB2-SSA2-SA8,1,5 " Section 1g. 15.375 (4) of the statutes is created to read:

SB2-SSA2-SA8,1,9 15.375 (4) School facility board. There is created a school facility board, attached to the department of public instruction under s. 15.03 and consisting of 7 members appointed for 4-year terms. The school facility board shall include at least one member who is a resident of the city of Milwaukee.".

SB2-SSA2-SA8,2,11 115.883 School facility board. (1) A school district may apply to the school facility board for a grant to assist in the construction or lease of a school facility in order to reduce the average class size of the school district. The school district facility board shall pay the grants from the appropriation under s. 20.255 (2) (fr).

SB2-SSA2-SA8,2,13 (2) The school facility board shall promulgate rules to implement and administer this section.".
