3"(c) Before allowing an alternative method of apportionment under par. (a), the
4department of revenue shall notify the cochairpersons of the joint committee on
5finance of the department's intent to do so and shall provide information about the
6alternative method and the reasons for approving it and shall provide an estimate
7of its fiscal effect. If, within 14 working days after the date of the department of
8revenue's notice, the cochairpersons of the committee do not notify the department
9of revenue that the committee has scheduled a meeting to review the approval of the
10alternative method, the department may approve the alternative method's use. If,
11within 14 working days after the date of the notice, the cochairpersons of the
12committee notify the department of revenue that the committee has scheduled a
1meeting to review the approval of the alternative method, that approval may be given
2only with the consent of the committee.".
