AB100-ASA1-AA7,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:
AB100-ASA1-AA7,1,3 21. Page 1298, line 19: delete the material beginning with that line and ending
3with page 1299, line 20, and substitute:
AB100-ASA1-AA7,1,5 4" Section 2847b. 119.23 (2) (a) 2. of the statutes is repealed and recreated to
5read:
AB100-ASA1-AA7,1,96 119.23 (2) (a) 2. In the previous school year the pupil was enrolled in the school
7district operating under this chapter, was attending a private school under this
8section, was enrolled in grades kindergarten to 3 in a private school located in the
9city other than under this section or was not enrolled in school.
AB100-ASA1-AA7, s. 2847c 10Section 2847c. 119.23 (2) (a) 3. of the statutes is repealed and recreated to
11read:

1119.23 (2) (a) 3. The private school notified the state superintendent of its
2intent to participate in the program under this section by March 1 of the previous
3school year.
AB100-ASA1-AA7, s. 2847e 4Section 2847e. 119.23 (2) (b) of the statutes is repealed and recreated to read:
AB100-ASA1-AA7,2,65 119.23 (2) (b) Beginning in the 1997-98 school year, no more than 5% of the
6school district's membership may attend private schools under this section.
AB100-ASA1-AA7, s. 2847g 7Section 2847g. 119.23 (3) of the statutes is repealed and recreated to read:
AB100-ASA1-AA7,2,158 119.23 (3) The pupil or the pupil's parent or guardian shall submit an
9application, on a form provided by the state superintendent, to the participating
10private school that the pupil wishes to attend. Within 60 days after receiving the
11application, the private school shall notify the applicant, in writing, whether the
12application has been accepted. The state superintendent shall ensure that the
13private school determines which pupils to accept on a random basis, except that the
14private school may give preference in accepting applications to siblings of pupils
15accepted on a random basis.
AB100-ASA1-AA7, s. 2847L 16Section 2847L. 119.23 (4) of the statutes is repealed and recreated to read:
AB100-ASA1-AA7,2,2217 119.23 (4) Upon receipt from the pupil's parent or guardian of proof of the
18pupil's enrollment in the private school, the state superintendent shall pay to the
19private school, from the appropriation under s. 20.255 (2) (fu), an amount equal to
20the shared cost per member in the previous school year of the school district
21operating under this chapter. The state superintendent shall pay 25% of the total
22amount in September, 25% in November, 25% in February and 25% in May.".
