AB280-ASA1,1,3 1An Act to amend 252.15 (7) (c) (intro.); and to create 252.15 (7m) of the statutes;
2relating to: disclosure to the state epidemiologist of the names of persons
3significantly exposed to the human immunodeficiency virus.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB280-ASA1, s. 1 4Section 1. 252.15 (7) (c) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB280-ASA1,1,65 252.15 (7) (c) (intro.) A Except as provided in sub. (7m), a report made under
6par. (b) may not include any of the following:
AB280-ASA1, s. 2 7Section 2. 252.15 (7m) of the statutes is created to read:
AB280-ASA1,2,28 252.15 (7m) Reporting of persons significantly exposed. If a positive,
9validated test result is obtained from a test subject, the test subject's physician who
10maintains a record of the test result under sub. (4) (c) may report to the state
11epidemiologist the name of any person known to the physician to have been

1significantly exposed to the test subject, only after the physician has done all of the
2following:
AB280-ASA1,2,43 (a) Counseled the test subject to inform any person who has been significantly
4exposed to the test subject.
AB280-ASA1,2,75 (b) Notified the test subject that the name of any person known to the physician
6to have been significantly exposed to the test subject will be reported to the state
7epidemiologist.
