ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 408

AB408-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB408-AA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 4: delete "kayaks and canoes" and substitute "canoes, kayaks, rafts and certain sailboats".

AB408-AA1,1,4 2. Page 3, line 13: delete that line and substitute:

AB408-AA1,1,6 "30.52 (2) (b) For a boat that is voluntarily registered under sub. (1) (b) 1m. that is a canoe, kayak or raft or that is a sailboat that is 12 feet in length or less,".

AB408-AA1,1,8 3. Page 3, line 21: delete " , other than a canoe or kayak," and substitute ", other than a boat specified in subd. 2.,".

AB408-AA1,1,12 4. Page 3, line 25: delete that line and substitute "of registration for a boat that is voluntarily registered under sub. (1) (b) 1m. that is a canoe, kayak or raft or that is a sailboat that is 12 feet in length or less is $12, or an applicant, at the applicant's option, may pay a greater fee for issuance or renewal of the registration.".

AB408-AA1,2,2 5. Page 4, line 2: delete " canoes and kayaks" and substitute "canoes, kayaks, rafts and small sailboats".

AB408-AA1,2,3 6. Page 4, line 9: delete lines 9 to 17 and substitute:

AB408-AA1,2,4 " Section 12b. 30.52 (5) (b) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

AB408-AA1,2,13 30.52 (5) (b) 2. At the time the department issues a registration card, it shall issue 2 registration stickers or decals per boat. The registration stickers or decals shall bear the year of expiration of the current certification and registration period. For boats that are voluntarily registered under sub. (1) (b) 1m. that are canoes, kayaks or rafts or that are sailboats 12 feet in length or less, the registration stickers or decals shall be distinct in form and design from the other registration stickers or decals issued under this subdivision. The department shall provide the applicant with instructions concerning the attachment of the registration stickers or decals to the boat.".
