SENATE AMENDMENT 9, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 463

AB463-SA9,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the engrossed bill as follows:

AB463-SA9,1,2 1. Page 4, line 2: after "degree" insert "and making an appropriation".

AB463-SA9,1,3 2. Page 10, line 1: delete that line and substitute:

AB463-SA9,1,4 " Section 1g. 20.435 (7) (dc) of the statutes is created to read:

AB463-SA9,1,6 20.435 (7) (dc) Unborn child abuse services. A sum sufficient for services related to unborn child abuse as provided in s. 48.983.

AB463-SA9, s. 1r Section 1r. 38.24 (1s) of the statutes is amended to read:".

AB463-SA9,1,12 " Section 300m. 48.983 of the statutes is created to read:

AB463-SA9,2,9 48.983 Unborn child abuse services funding. (1) From the appropriation under s. 20.435 (7) (dc), the department shall provide services related to unborn child abuse, including prevention and investigation services and care and treatment services provided to the expectant mothers of unborn children, in a county having a population of 500,000 or more and shall reimburse county departments under s. 46.22, 46.23, 51.42 or 51.437 for the costs incurred by those county departments in providing services related to unborn child abuse, including the costs of prevention and investigation services and the costs of care and treatment services provided to the expectant mothers of unborn children.

AB463-SA9,2,17 (2) To receive reimbursement under sub. (1), a county department under s. 46.22, 46.23, 51.42 or 51.437 shall file with the department, in such manner as the department may prescribe, a claim for reimbursement by March 1 of the calendar year after the calendar year in which the services described in sub. (1) were provided. The claim shall include a detailed statement of the costs incurred by the county department in providing those services, the amounts recovered for the costs of those services under s. 46.03 (18) and any other information that the department may request.

AB463-SA9,2,22 (3) The department shall audit any claim filed under sub. (2) and determine the net costs to the county department under s. 46.22, 46.23, 51.42 or 51.437 of providing the services described in sub. (1). The department shall reimburse a county department for 100% of those net costs that are approved by the department by July 1 of the calendar year in which the claim is filed.".
