AB592-ASA1,1,2 An Act to create 348.17 (5) of the statutes; relating to: exempting certain vehicles from special or seasonal weight limitations.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB592-ASA1, s. 1 Section 1. 348.17 (5) of the statutes is created to read:

AB592-ASA1,1,5 348.17 (5) The following vehicles are exempt from special or seasonal weight limitations imposed under s. 349.16 (1) (a):

AB592-ASA1,1,9 (a) A vehicle moving only household furniture, appliances and other personal effects to or from a residence. A vehicle moving household furniture, appliances or other items by, or under the direction of, a retailer of those items is not exempt under this paragraph.

AB592-ASA1,2,4 (b) A vehicle transporting material pumped from a septic or holding tank if, because of health concerns, the material needed to be removed from the septic or holding tank within 24 hours after the vehicle owner or operator is notified. Within 7 days after operating a vehicle that exceeded a special or seasonal weight limitation but that was exempted under this paragraph, the owner or operator of the vehicle shall notify the authority in charge of the maintenance of the highway over which the vehicle was operated.
