SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 1997 SENATE BILL 489

SB489-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB489-SA1,1,2 1. Page 1, line 3: delete "and making an appropriation".

SB489-SA1,1,3 2. Page 2, line 1: delete lines 1 to 11.

SB489-SA1,1,5 3. Page 3, line 9: delete the material beginning with "The" and ending with "(gf)." on line 12.

SB489-SA1,1,6 4. Page 3, line 12: delete "from the".

SB489-SA1,1,8 5. Page 3, line 13: delete that line and substitute "for the cost of signals and other crossing protection devices identified under this subsection only in the".

SB489-SA1,1,9 6. Page 4, line 23: after that line insert:

SB489-SA1,2,6 "(2d) Department of transportation budget request. Notwithstanding section 16.42 (1) (e) of the statutes, in submitting information under section 16.42 of the statutes for purposes of the 1999-2001 biennial budget bill, the department of transportation shall request that all federal and state transportation safety funds that are received by the department of transportation during the 1999-2001 fiscal biennium, and that are not directed by law to be expended for purposes other than those described in this subsection, be credited to the appropriation accounts under section 20.395 (2) (gr) and (gx) of the statutes to be expended for the installation of signals and railroad crossing protection devices identified by the commissioner of railroads under section 195.28 (2m) of the statutes, as created by this act.".
