ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 2, To 1997 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1

SJR1-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the joint resolution as follows:

SJR1-AA2,1,3 1. Page 1, line 1: before the period insert: "; and to create joint rule 82 (2) (am); relating to: required meeting of the legislature at veto review floorperiod".

SJR1-AA2,1,4 2. Page 5, line 15: after that line insert:

SJR1-AA2,1,5 " Section 3. Joint rule 82 (2) (am) is created to read:

SJR1-AA2,1,7 Joint Rule 82 (2) (am) Notwithstanding any contrary instructions by a committee or officer of the legislature:

SJR1-AA2,1,12 1. Upon submission to the assembly chief clerk and senate chief clerk of a petition requesting the opportunity to vote on gubernatorial vetoes and partial vetoes at the veto review floorperiod, which is signed by at least 15 members of one house of the legislature, each chief clerk shall prepare a calendar for the first day of the veto review floorperiod and place all pending vetoes on it.

SJR1-AA2,2,2 2. Each house shall be in session at that time and shall vote on each pending veto.".
