ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 24, TO ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 1999 ASSEMBLY BILL 133

AB133-ASA1-AA24,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB133-ASA1-AA24,1,2 1. Page 1567, line 24: delete "joint committee on".

AB133-ASA1-AA24,1,4 2. Page 1568, line 1: delete "finance for its approval" and substitute "legislature in the manner provided under section 13.172 (2) of the statutes".

AB133-ASA1-AA24,1,8 3. Page 1568, line 1: before "The" insert "Prior to submission of the report, the board of school directors shall hold at least 2 public hearings on the plans under subdivision 4., including at least one in the school district operating under chapter 119 of the statutes.".

AB133-ASA1-AA24,1,9 4. Page 1568, line 2: after that line insert:

AB133-ASA1-AA24,2,3 "1. A strategy for reducing the number of minority group pupils who are transferred from an attendance area where minority group pupils constitute 30% or more of the number of pupils enrolled in the school serving that attendance area to a school where minority group pupils constitute 30% or more of the number of pupils enrolled.".

AB133-ASA1-AA24,2,9 7. Page 1568, line 14: delete lines 14 to 16 and substitute:

AB133-ASA1-AA24,2,11 "(b) The legislature shall review the report and may adopt a joint resolution expressing its approval or disapproval of the report.".

AB133-ASA1-AA24,2,13 8. Page 1568, line 21: delete that line and substitute "year unless the legislature adopts a joint resolution approving the report under paragraph".
