SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 4: after "wetlands" insert "and significant wetlands".
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,3 32. Page 8, line 2: after that line insert:
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,4 4" Section 5m. 281.38 of the statutes is created to read:
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,6 5281.38 Water quality certification for significant wetlands. (1)
6Definitions. In this section:
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,77 (a) "Federal wetland" means a wetland that is not a nonfederal wetland.
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,88 (b) "Navigable water" has the meaning given in s. 281.31 (2) (d).
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,99 (c) "Nonfederal wetland" has the meaning given in s. 281.36 (1) (c).
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,1010 (d) "Significant wetland" means either of the following:
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,1111 1. A federal wetland that is adjacent to navigable water.
SB37-SSA1-SA1,1,1212 2. A large nonfederal wetland.

1(2) Definitions; rules. For purposes of this section, the department by rule
2shall define "adjacent to navigable water" and "large nonfederal wetland."
SB37-SSA1-SA1,2,9 3(3) Water quality standards. The department shall promulgate rules to set
4specific water quality standards for significant wetlands for the purpose of
5protecting the greater functional values performed by significant wetlands. The
6department shall use these water quality standards in reviewing applications for
7water quality certifications for significant wetlands issued under s. 281.36 (2) and
8for water quality certifications for significant wetlands issued by the department to
9implement 33 USC 1341 (a).".
