SENATE AMENDMENT 3, TO 2001 SENATE BILL 47

SB47-SA3,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB47-SA3,1,8 1. Page 2, line 2: delete the material beginning with " a " and ending with "department." on line 5 and substitute " a A law enforcement officer may not use race or ethnicity, racial or ethnic profiling, racial or ethnic stereotyping, or other race-based or ethnicity-based discrimination or selection as a factor in determining whether to stop or inspect a vehicle solely to determine compliance with this subsection or sub. (1) or (2) or a local ordinance in conformity with this subsection, sub. (1) or (2) or rules of the department.".

Page 3, line 4: after the period insert "A law enforcement officer may not use race or ethnicity, racial or ethnic profiling, racial or ethnic stereotyping, or other race-based or ethnicity-based discrimination or selection as a factor in determining whether to stop or inspect a vehicle under this subsection.".
