3"38.17 Levy limit. (1) Definition. In this section:".

5"(a) "Debt service" includes debt service on debt issued or reissued to fund or
6refund outstanding municipal".

8"(b) "State mandate" means a state law that requires a district board to engage
9in an activity or provide a service, or to increase the level of its activities or services.

(c) "Unfunded state mandate" means a state mandate for which the state does
11not provide a district board with the entire amount of the district's costs of complying
12with the state mandate.".

2"(c) The limit otherwise applicable under sub. (2) for the current fiscal year is
3increased by an amount equal to the cost incurred by a district board to comply with
4an unfunded state mandate.".
