SR31-SA5,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the resolution as follows:
SR31-SA5,1,2 21. Page 2, line 5: after that line insert:
SR31-SA5,1,6 3"Whereas, the estimated cost of prescription drug benefits for participants in
4state employee health insurance plans is $125 million annually and the cost of
5prescription medications purchased for Wisconsin prison inmates is $12 million
6annually; and
SR31-SA5,1,87 Whereas, if the medications in those 2 programs were purchased at the
8Canadian prices, the savings to Wisconsin taxpayers would be $83 million; and
SR31-SA5,1,109 Whereas, taxpayers and individuals with no or inadequate health insurance
10need relief from the high cost of prescription drugs; and
SR31-SA5,2,211 Whereas, Congress twice has passed legislation to allow American pharmacists
12and drug wholesalers to import FDA-approved drugs from other countries, but the

1U.S. department of health and human services has declined to implement a drug
2import program; and".
