ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 3, TO 2005 ASSEMBLY BILL 1189

AB1189-AA3,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB1189-AA3,1,3 1. Page 7, line 14: after "event" insert "or communicating dates on which a state legislator may be available to attend an event".

AB1189-AA3,1,6 2. Page 7, line 24: after "committee" insert "that is held exclusively for political purposes or that is held during the period beginning on June 1 of an even-numbered year and ending on the date of the general election in that year".

AB1189-AA3,1,8 3. Page 8, line 4: delete "of" and substitute "primarily for the purpose of tracking".

AB1189-AA3,1,10 4. Page 8, line 8: after "office" insert ", but not including communication of salary or employee benefit information to a potential candidate for state office".

AB1189-AA3,1,11 5. Page 8, line 24: after that line insert:

AB1189-AA3,2,3 "(hm) "Paid for" does not include a payment made for the actual and necessary expenses incurred in responding to a request to provide access to or copies of a public record.".

AB1189-AA3,2,4 6. Page 9, line 8: after that line insert:

AB1189-AA3,2,10 "(km) "Political purposes" means for the purpose of influencing the election or nomination for election of any individual to national, state, or local office; for the purpose of influencing the recall from or retention in office of an individual holding a national, state, or local office; for the purpose of payment of expenses incurred as a result of a recount at an election; or for the purpose of influencing a particular vote at a referendum.".
