AB470-ASA1,1,3 1An Act to create 29.425 of the statutes; relating to: the possession, release,
2control, storage, sale, and transportation of invasive fish species and requiring
3the exercise of rule-making authority.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB470-ASA1, s. 1 4Section 1. 29.425 of the statutes is created to read:

AB470-ASA1,1,7 529.425 Invasive fish species. (1) In this section, "invasive fish species" are
6nonnative species of fish that cause, or are likely to cause, harm to the economy, to
7the environment, or to human health.

AB470-ASA1,1,8 8(2) The department shall promulgate rules specifying invasive fish species.

AB470-ASA1,1,10 9(3) No person may possess, release, control, store, sell, or transport invasive
10fish species or the viable eggs of those species.

AB470-ASA1,2,4 11(4) The prohibitions under sub. (3) against the possession, control, storage,
12sale, or transportation of invasive fish species or the viable eggs of those species do

1not apply to a person who holds a scientific collector permit under s. 29.614, to a
2person who holds a scientific research license under s. 169.25, or to a person
3authorized by the department to engage in that conduct for scientific or educational
4purposes.
