AR6-AA2,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the resolution as follows:
AR6-AA2,1,2 21. Page 2, line 1: after that line insert:
AR6-AA2,1,3 3" Section 1m. Assembly rule 1 is amended to read:
AR6-AA2,2,2 4Assembly Rule 1. Assembly officers. As early as possible in each legislative
5biennium, the assembly shall elect from among its members, by roll call vote of a
6majority of those present, a speaker of the assembly and a speaker pro tempore, and
7from outside its membership a chief clerk and a sergeant at arms. Those officers
8shall serve for the legislative biennium unless separated by death, resignation, or
9removal by a majority of the current membership of the assembly. The speaker is also
10separated if a registration statement or designation signed by the speaker is filed for
11a personal campaign or support committee under state law or a principal campaign
12committee under federal law which is acting for the purpose of supporting the
13candidacy of the speaker for an office other than representative to the assembly.

1midterm vacancy in any of those offices shall be filled by an election scheduled by the
2speaker as a special order of business.".
