ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 5, TO 2005 ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION 6

AR6-AA5,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the resolution as follows:

AR6-AA5,1,2 1. Page 3, line 4: after that line insert:

AR6-AA5,1,3 " Section 2d. Assembly rule 11 (9) is amended to read:

AR6-AA5,1,7 Assembly Rule 11 (9) The chairperson shall determine, subject to rule 14, when proposals or other business are scheduled for public hearing or, subject to rule 17d, executive action, and, subject to rule 17m, when committee actions are reported to the assembly.

AR6-AA5, s. 2m Section 2m. Assembly rule 14 (1) and (3) are amended to read:

AR6-AA5,2,2 Assembly Rule 14 (1) Any Every proposal referred to a committee, and any other business relevant to its title, may at the discretion of the chairperson be scheduled for shall be given a public hearing within 60 days after it is initially referred to a committee either by the committee to which it was initially referred or to another committee to which it is referred. Any other business relevant to the title of the committee may, at the discretion of the chairperson, be scheduled for a public hearing.

AR6-AA5,2,5 (3) A hearing on a proposal may not be held until copies of any of the legislation scheduled for hearing are available to the public 7 working days after the proposal is introduced or offered.".

AR6-AA5,2,7 " Section 11m. Assembly rule 93 (3) is amended to read:

AR6-AA5,2,11 Assembly Rule 93 (3) A notice of hearings before committees a committee is not required other than posting on the legislative bulletin boards, and a schedule of committee activities need not be published. A hearing before a committee is not required.".
