SB258-SSA1,1,2 1An Act to create 43.17 (12) of the statutes; relating to: public library loaning
2or rental to minors of movies with a restricted rating.

This substitute amendment provides that a public library must require each
applicant for a borrower's card to state whether he or she allows his or her minor
children to borrow or rent "R"-rated (restricted) movies. If the parent does not
consent, the public library may not loan or rent such movies to those children.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

SB258-SSA1,1,84 43.17 (12) A public library shall require each applicant for a borrower's card
5to state whether he or she allows his or her minor children, if any, to borrow or rent
6movies rated "restricted" under the rating system instituted by the Motion Picture
7Association of America. If the parent or guardian does not consent, the public library
8may not loan or rent such movies to those minor children.
