ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2007 ASSEMBLY BILL 187

AB187-ASA1,1,3 An Act to create 29.219 (2m), 29.228 (4m), 29.563 (3) (a) 4m. and 29.563 (3) (b) 5m. of the statutes; relating to: requiring the Department of Natural Resources to issue one-day fishing licenses.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB187-ASA1, s. 1 Section 1. 29.219 (2m) of the statutes is created to read:

AB187-ASA1,1,8 29.219 (2m) One-day fishing license. The department shall issue a resident one-day fishing license, subject to s. 29.024, to any resident who applies for this license except that the department may not issue a license under this subsection that authorizes a resident to fish after February 28, 2011.

AB187-ASA1, s. 2 Section 2. 29.228 (4m) of the statutes is created to read:

AB187-ASA1,2,2 29.228 (4m) One-day fishing license. The department shall issue a nonresident one-day fishing license, subject to s. 29.024, to any nonresident who applies for this license except that the department may not issue a license under this subsection that authorizes a nonresident to fish after February 28, 2011.

AB187-ASA1, s. 3 Section 3. 29.563 (3) (a) 4m. of the statutes is created to read:

AB187-ASA1,2,5 29.563 (3) (a) 4m. One-day fishing: $11.25. This subdivision does not apply after February 28, 2011.

AB187-ASA1, s. 4 Section 4. 29.563 (3) (b) 5m. of the statutes is created to read:

AB187-ASA1,2,8 29.563 (3) (b) 5m. One-day fishing: $11.25. This subdivision does not apply after February 28, 2011.

AB187-ASA1, s. 5 Section 5. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB187-ASA1,2,15 (1) The department of natural resources shall evaluate the effect of issuing one-day fishing licenses under sections 29.219 (2m) and 29.228 (4m) of the statutes, as created by this act, and prepare a report on that evaluation. The department of natural resources shall submit the report no later than November 1, 2010 to the chief clerk of each house of the legislature, for distribution to the appropriate standing committees under section 13.172 (3) of the statutes.

AB187-ASA1, s. 6 Section 6. Effective date.

AB187-ASA1,2,18 (1) This act takes effect on April 1, 2008, or the day after publication, whichever is later.
