TO 2007 ASSEMBLY BILL 321

AB321-AA2,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB321-AA2,1,3 21. Page 5, line 25: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with
3page 6, line 10, and substitute:
AB321-AA2,1,5 4" Section 4m. 118.07 (2) of the statutes is renumbered 118.07 (2) (a) and
5amended to read:
AB321-AA2,2,26 118.07 (2) (a) Once each month, without previous warning, the person having
7direct charge of any public or private school shall drill all pupils in the proper method
8of departure from the building as if in case of fire, except when the person having
9direct charge deems that the health of the pupils may be endangered by inclement
10weather conditions. At least twice annually, without previous warning, the person
11having direct charge of any public or private school shall drill all pupils in the proper
12method of evacuation to a safe location as if in the case of a tornado or other hazard.


1The school board or governing body of the private school shall maintain for at least
27 years a record of each fire drill and tornado or other hazard drill conducted.
AB321-AA2, s. 4o 3Section 4o. 118.07 (2) (b) of the statutes is created to read:
AB321-AA2,2,94 118.07 (2) (b) In each community having a recognized fire department, the
5person having direct charge of any public or private school shall annually file a report
6pertaining to such drills, on a form furnished by the department of commerce, with
7the chief of the fire department. When no fire drill is held during any month, or when
8only one or no tornado or other hazard drill is held in a year, the person having direct
9charge of the school shall state the reasons in the report.".
